Monet and May we are best friend sisters, born and raised in Kyoto.

As Japanese-American creatives, we started “nouo” to rediscover and share the small treasures hidden in everyday life - often hard to notice in a world so full.

“nouo” is a word we made up -

from no (the space of nothingness)

and uo魚 (fish), swimming quietly in that stillness.

Our wish is simple : to carry pieces of Japan across the sea, and offer them gently, as they are.
